The Methodist Church Light Initiative 2021

As part of an endeavour to support us through the next few months, the Methodist Churches of East Anglia, Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire have joined together to create a “Light Initiative”, with various ideas for encouraging and supporting us all through the dark winter lockdowns.

In liaison between Belfairs and ‘Queens Park art for pleasure group’ based in Billericay, the art group have created a series of paintings based on this theme and they are shown here in the PDF files below. Our sincere thanks to the group for their wonderful efforts which will also be displayed in both Belfairs and Billericay Methodist Church foyers.

We will continue to have a regular slot in the Newsletter over the next few months on the same theme, so please feel free to pass any ideas on.

Light Initiative Exhibition January 2021

Light Initiative Exhibition February 2021

During the lockdown, Belfairs Methodist Church has been reaching out to the local community by brightening up their windows. It started in December with their annual nativity display, lit up at night, for all to see. January and February saw the Methodist Church Light Initiative, with art work from Queens Park art group Billericay and now, March is celebrating Mother’s Day with paintings and drawings from the children of the Boys Brigade, Girls Brigade, children connected to Belfairs (and a few grown ups!). Easter will be the last display as we are hoping to re-open for worship, and welcome back some of the activities that take place in our premises.
